But it does not attract capital on its own. Capital follows yield, liquidity, and exit paths โ€” none of which the reported claim describes.

XRPL's roadmap does include further tooling. The XLS-80d standard proposal, still under development, aims to formalize tokenized asset structures on the ledger. But roadmap items are not shipped infrastructure. The chain grows. The ledger's native asset watches from the sidelines. That outcome is not hypothetical. It is the default path.

RWA settlement shares these properties, which is why the connection is plausible. But cross-border payments involve two fiat currencies and a bridge asset. But the same structure means the RWA narrative depends on Ripple's continued corporate commitment. Decentralized networks distribute that risk across thousands of independent actors. XRPL concentrates it. Deliberately.

There are also signals that large early investors are not waiting for the RWA narrative to mature. Reports in early 2024 indicated a16z and Pantera Capital were selling XRP holdings. If it remains a headline statistic without an on-chain echo, treat it as what it is: a narrative, not evidence. Bull markets reward narratives. They punish those who confuse narratives with data.

The ledger never lies. It only waits to be read. In this case, the silence in the logs is louder than the headline โ€” and it says the data was never there to begin with.
